...Elevated and Swift Flows to Continue in Area Rivers and Washes
into the Weekend...

Rainfall and snow melt continues to result in elevated and swift
flows across area rivers and washes. The high flows are occurring
on the Upper Gila River. In addition, runoff from melting snow will
keep mountain washes and streams flowing through the weekend.

The Gila River has peaked near Duncan and Solomon. Flows will remain
elevated, but slowly decrease through this weekend.

The Gila River near Calva is forecast to crest Saturday, but remain
well below bankfull.

Although flooding is not occurring or expected, flows could remain
elevated and swift for several days. The water is also very cold and
persons should stay away from rivers and washes. Water temperatures
this cold could result in hypothermia in a short amount of time.
