...Very High Heat Index Values Expected across much of Deep South
Texas Today...

The combination of hot temperatures and elevated humidity
values this afternoon will result in very high heat index values
reaching into the 105 to 110 degree range across much of Deep
South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley. These very high heat index
values will persist over several hours this afternoon and into
into the early evening hours. The elevated heat index values will
then decrease steadily around and after sunset.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible...reschedule strenuous activities to the early morning
or the late evening hours. Know the signs and symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting
clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.
