...HEAT INDEX VALUES RANGING FROM 103 TO NEAR 108 DEGREES THIS
AFTERNOON ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS...

High temperatures this afternoon will range from the mid to upper
90s across the Hill Country and along and east of the Interstate
35 corridor to near 100 degrees across the Rio Grande Plains. In
addition, south to southeasterly winds will continue to provide a
steady supply of low-level moisture to the region. These
conditions will combine to drive heat index values into the 103 to
near 108 degree range this afternoon. Heat index values should
drop below 100 degrees around sunset as the temperature begins to
slowly fall.
