Regional Synopsis
National Weather Service Morristown TN
300 AM EDT Sun Sep 22 2019

A massive area of high pressure will be the dominant feature across
the region through next weekend despite the passage of a weak front
early in the week. The weak frontal boundary will move into the area
on Monday and will attempt to bring some relief in the form of
slightly cooler air and some rain. However, it will largely
accomplish neither, with only a small chance of a few sprinkles on
the Cumberland Plateau, and some of the higher terrain across
Southwest Virginia. In fact, temperatures will become even hotter
later in the week as the large high pressure area strengthens across
the Eastern U.S.
