...END OF THE FROST AND FREEZE HEADLINES FOR CATTARAUGUS, ALLEGANY,
AND JEFFERSON COUNTIES...

Over the past three mornings, the vast majority of locations in
Cattaraugus, Allegany, and Jefferson counties have experienced a
killing freeze. Thus, the growing season has ended for the year in
these counties, and no additional frost or freeze headlines will be
issued for these counties until the spring of 2021.

For Wyoming county, though areas of frost have occurred the last
three nights as temperatures fell into the upper 20s to middle 30s,
a widespread killing freeze has not occurred. The growing season
will therefore continue until its climatological end on October 15
or until a killing freeze occurs.

For Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, northern Cayuga, Oswego,
Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Erie and Chautauqua counties, though
there has been patchy frost inland from the lakes the last three
nights, a killing freeze has not occurred. The growing season will
therefore continue until its climatological end on October 25 or
until a killing freeze occurs.
