...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT CENTRAL TUSCALOOSA AND
SOUTHWESTERN JEFFERSON COUNTIES THROUGH 830 PM CDT...

At 729 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Sylvan Springs to near Binion Creek
Landing. Movement was southeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Southwestern Birmingham, northeastern Tuscaloosa, Hoover, Vestavia
Hills, Bessemer, Homewood, Northport, Hueytown, Fairfield, Holt,
Pleasant Grove, Midfield, Brighton, Lipscomb, Lake View, Brookwood,
Coaling, Sylvan Springs, Vance, and Maytown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for
central and west central Alabama.
