...Drought Improvement Seen Across Much of the Western Half of

Generous rainfall over portions of Iowa have led to improvements in
drought conditions across areas of central into western Iowa.

The drought monitor is a multi-agency effort involving the
National Drought Mitigation Center, the National Weather Service,
the USDA and state and regional center climatologists.
Information for this statement has been gathered from NWS and FAA
observation sites, NRCS, USDA, USACE and USGS.
