The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a

* Flood Warning for Urban Areas and Small Streams in...
  Stoddard County in southeastern Missouri...
  Northeastern Butler County in southeastern Missouri...

* Until 1000 AM CDT.

* At 658 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain which will cause flooding. Radar estimates of up to two
  inches of rain have already fallen in northeast Butler County
  since 5 am CDT.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Dexter, Bloomfield, Advance, Morehouse, Puxico, Essex, Bell City,
  Fisk, Dudley, Baker, Penermon and Rombauer.

Additional rainfall amounts of one inch or more are possible in the
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
