742 FNAK79 PAFG 131750 FWSAFG Spot Forecast for 412 Wheeler...BLM National Weather Service Fairbanks AK 950 AM AKDT Sun Jul 13 2025 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 1000 AKDT on July 13. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION... Saturday observations in the area highlighted max temps near 70, with minimum RH near 30 percent. Winds were gusty out of the west- northwest near 25 mph in the valleys. Thinking winds were gusting to 30 mph at times along the prominent ridges of the Purcell Mountains on the southern flank of the fire, with a convective plume moving to the east-southeast. For Sunday, expecting temperatures to reach the low 70s, with RH near 35 percent. Winds through the boundary layer become more southwesterly, with surface speeds largely remaining below 15mph, and gusts near 20 to 30 mph along the upper ridges. With that said, the fire exists in complex terrain with narrow valleys/channels. Expect erratic surface winds through the lower creek corridors of the Purcell Mountains with southwesterly transport winds. We have higher confidence for thunderstorms south of Huslia but keep a watchful eye to your south for developing clouds. Monday into Tuesday have much better chances for overcast skies, widespread light rain, cooler temps, better RH, with winds out of the south-southwest. .REST OF TODAY...
