...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PDT THIS EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...
A cooling trend will begin Friday and persist through the weekend as
the strong high that has been over the region shifts to the southeast.
Warm overnight lows are expected again tonight, but both daytime and
overnight temperatures will decrease significantly through the period
with highs in the mid 70s by Saturday, and lows falling into the lower
60s. In spite of cooler temperatures, lowering humidities will occur
as monsoonal moisture also shifts east of the area. Gusty west to
northwest winds are expected tonight, then increasing some from the
southwest on Friday through Friday evening. Winds will remain onshore/
southwest on Saturday but will weaken some.

Eye level winds.....West winds 5 to 8 mph with gusts to 10 mph
