OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
244 AM CST Mon Dec 10 2018

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

A broad area of high pressure of 30.4 inches over the Central
Plains will move into Oklahoma and eastern Texas by tonight,
and then into the Gulf Coast states on Tuesday. Meanwhile, low
pressure of 29.9 inches developing over Manitoba will move
southeast to Lake Superior by early Tuesday. This will result in
persistent moderate southwest winds today then shift west tonight
and then be decidedly northwest on Tuesday.

Winds are expected to become more southerly by Wednesday, as a
trough of low pressure of 29.9 inches develops from the southern
Rockies into Iowa. A stronger low of 29.6 inches is then expected
to develop over northern Texas on Thursday, lifting into the
eastern US by the end of the week. Depending on the track of this
low, stronger east to northeast winds could affect the southern
portions of Lake Michigan late in the week.
