...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM NEAR GULFSIDE PATCH REEF...

The areas affected include...
Gulf Waters from East Cape Sable to Chokoloskee 20 to 60 nm out and
beyond 5 fathoms...
Gulf of America from west end of Seven Mile Bridge to Halfmoon Shoal
out to 5 fathoms...

At 444 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists detected a a
strong thunderstorm, capable of producing wind gusts near 30 knots.
This thunderstorm was located near Gulfside Patch Reef. The
thunderstorm was nearly stationary.

Locations that will be affected include...
Gulfside Patch Reef and Snipe Point.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Prepare for thunderstorms with wind gusts near 30 knots, locally
rough and confused seas, occasional lightning strikes, and
potentially blinding downpours. Get to a safe port as quickly, and as
safely as possible. When downpours reduce visibility, slow down.

Intense and continuous lightning is occurring with this storm. Stay
low, or go below. Lower VHF antenna, outriggers, fishing rods, and
umbrellas. Avoid open areas on islands and sandbars. Do not shelter
under tall or isolated trees on nearby mangrove islands.
