...Frost Advisories and Freeze Watches or Warnings Have Ended
Through the Winter...

The frost and freeze program at NWS Birmingham is in effect until an
area has had a significant area wide hard freeze, roughly 28
degrees, or until Thanksgiving Day. Thus, starting tonight, the
program has ended and any additional frost advisories, freeze
watches, or freeze warnings will not be issued. Hard freeze watches
or warnings will still be issued, when the temperatures are expected
to be 15 degrees or less. The frost and freeze program will begin
back on March 15.

The frost and freeze program at NWS Birmingham dates have been
coordinated with our partners as well as based on historical trends
and temperatures. Remember, a freeze warning is issued any time the
temperatures are expected to drop to freezing or below during the
growing season, and a frost advisory is issued whenever frost is
possible during the growing season.
