Subject:  Change to river forecast services for the West Fork Des
          Moines River near Avoca (AVOM5) and the West Fork Des
          Moines River near Windom (WDOM5) gauges beginning on
          Wednesday, January 20, 2021.

On Wednesday, January 20, 2021 NOAA`s National Weather Service (NWS)
Office in Sioux Falls SD will begin providing river forecast and
warning services at two new locations, both on the West Fork Des
Moines River in southwest Minnesota.

The first new forecast point will be the West Fork Des Moines River
near Avoca (AVOM5) gauge. This gauge is located 7 miles northeast of
Avoca. Flood stage for this location is 1425.0 feet. Moderate
flooding begins at 1426.0 feet, and Major flooding at 1428.0 feet.
Additional forecast services of 90-day probabilistic outlooks will
also begin for this location. The AHPS website for this gauge is:

The second new forecast point will be the West Fork Des Moines River
near Windom (WDOM5) gauge. This gauge is located just northwest of
Windom near the Windom Country Club. Flood stage for this location
is 19.0 feet. Moderate flooding begins at 21.0 feet, and Major
flooding at 25.0 feet. Additional forecast services of 90-day
probabilistic outlooks will also begin for this location. The AHPS

Both changes have been coordinated with local, county, state, and
federal stakeholders.
