...Water to be released over Granite Reef into Salt River channel...

At 6:32 AM Wednesday Salt River Project officials began releasing
822 cubic feet per second (cfs) of water from the Granite Reef Dam
into the Salt River.

The existing flow over Granite Reef may be sufficient to cause
impacts downstream along the Salt River. This could include the low
water grade crossings at Gilbert and McKellips roads in Mesa as well
as other unbridged road crossings downstream particularly in
southeast Phoenix and the west valley.

If you have any interests along the Salt River especially along low
lying areas take necessary precautions and remain alert for
increases in the river level. Remember be a smart motorist and do
not drive through water of unknown depth. The water may be deeper
and stronger than you think.
