High pressure remains to the south of the area through Monday
afternoon as it moves off the southeast US coast. In its wake, a
surface low pressure approaches from the southwest. Clouds will be
on the increase Monday afternoon as a warm front approaches, and
rain chances increase for the entire area by late Monday night
through Tuesday. The precipitation will taper by late Tuesday

High temperatures for Monday will continue to be above normal,
ranging from the upper 40s and lower 50s across Long Island and
southern CT, to the upper 50s for NYC and the interior. Highs on
Tuesday will be a few degrees cooler, in the upper 40s and lower
50s with plentiful cloud cover and light rain. Low temperatures
will be in the middle 20s across the interior to the upper 30s
for NYC and Long Island on Monday, and in the middle 30s to lower
40s on Tuesday.
