The National Weather Service in New Orleans has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Harrison County in southeastern Mississippi...
  Jackson County in southern Mississippi...

* Until 1030 PM CDT.

* At 720 PM CDT, emergency management reported residual street
  flooding and road closures due to flood waters across parts of
  Harrison county. The heaviest rainfall was moving across Jackson

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Gulfport, Biloxi, Ocean Springs, Long Beach, Moss Point, St.
  Martin, Escatawpa, Gautier, D`iberville, Wade, Latimer, Big Point,
  Lyman, Saucier, Helena, Gulf Hills, Hurley, Vancleave, Hickory
  Hills and Gulfport Airport.

Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are possible in the
warned area, especially Jackson county. Residual street flooding
will exist through 10 pm this evening.


Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
