Mostly cloudy skies, brisk north northeast winds, and cold
temperatures prevailed across the area on the first spring
afternoon, as a ridge of high pressure built into the upper
Midwest. Temperatures topped out in the upper 30s and lower 40s,
which is about 6 to 13 degrees below normal. Wind chill values
were about 5 to 10 degrees colder than the actual temperature.

Light north winds and mostly cloudy skies will be common across
the area tonight, as the high continues to build into the region.
Temperatures will settle into the 20s by sunrise Wednesday.

Sunshine is on tap for Wednesday, with temperatures in the 40s.
