Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...High pressure of 30.4 inches over southern Quebec
will shift east off the New England coast on Saturday morning as a
low pressure trough averaging 29.9 inches reaches the central Plains
and extends to western Lake Superior. This trough will sweep across
Lake Superior on Saturday and reach the lower Great Lakes on Sunday.
A high pressure ridge of 30.2 inches will follow over the Upper
Great Lakes Sunday into Monday, weakening to 30.1 inches on
Tuesday. A 29.9 inch trough moves into the upper Great Lakes on
Tuesday afternoon. A 30.2 inch ridge of high pressure returns over
the upper Great Lakes on Wednesday.

20 knots in the afternoon, then veering northeast late. A chance
of rain showers. Waves building to 1 to 3 feet, then subsiding to
calm to 2 feet.

midnight, then diminishing to less than 10 knots late. Waves calm
