...LAKESHORE FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT
/11 PM CDT/ TONIGHT...

The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a Lakeshore
Flood Advisory...which is in effect until midnight EDT /11 PM CDT/
tonight.

* Winds...Persistent northeast winds of 30 to 40 mph will occur
through today over much of Lake Superior. Winds will diminish
  tonight.

* Waves...The persistent strong winds will generate waves of 11 to
16 feet today through this evening. Waves will begin to subside
  late tonight.

* Impacts...Where shore-fast ice has disappeared, the long
duration of large, pounding waves will cause minor beach erosion
and beach flooding. Where shore ice still exists or where pack
ice is driven toward shore, the continual wave action may break
up the ice and send large sections or blocks of ice well up onto
beaches, potentially damaging any property close to the shore.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Lakeshore Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and waves
will generate flooding of low areas along the lakeshore.
