...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM AST SUNDAY...
...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON...

The National Weather Service in SAN JUAN has issued a Coastal
Flood Advisory, which is in effect until 6 PM AST Saturday.

* WAVES AND SURF...Breaking waves between 8 to 12 feet and
  occasionally higher.

* LOCATION...Beaches of Rincon and Aguada.

* COASTAL FLOODING...Salt water intrusion over local roads and
low-lying areas near the beaches causing minor flooding,
especially during times of high tide.

* TIMING...The highest threat for minor coastal flooding is during
high tide on Saturday, which is at 12:17 AM and 1:27 PM for
Aguadilla and at 12:47 AM and 1:52 PM for Mayaguez.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding along coastal roads due to salt water
intrusion. Large breaking waves that can knock persons and
animals off of rocks and jetties and into the sea and cause
coastal erosion. Strong currents that can carry even the
strongest of swimmers out to sea.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

There is a high risk of rip currents.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.

A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area...producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.

A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
