.THE 2018-2019 WINTER SEASON WAS COLDER THAN NORMAL AT HIBBING MN...

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE WINTER OF 2018-2019 WAS 7.1 DEGREES
WHICH WAS 2.8 DEGREES BELOW THE NORMAL OF 9.9 DEGREES. THE HIGHEST
TEMPERATURE FOR THE WINTER WAS 44 DEGREES ON DECEMBER 15TH. THE
LOWEST TEMPERATURE FOR THE WINTER WAS 40 DEGREES BELOW ZERO ON
JANUARY 31ST. NO MONTHLY TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE BROKEN THIS
WINTER...HOWEVER FEBRUARY TIED THE 11TH COLDEST IN STATION HISTORY
WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 4.7 DEGREES. THE NORMAL AVERAGE
TEMPERATURE FOR FEBRUARY IS 12.0 DEGREES.

THE AVERAGE WIND SPEED FOR THE WINTER WAS 6.6 MPH. THE HIGHEST
SUSTAINED WIND OCCURRED ON FEBRUARY 24TH WITH A SPEED OF 36 MPH OUT
OF THE NORTHWEST. THE HIGHEST PEAK WIND GUST OCCURRED ON FEBRUARY
24TH WITH A WIND FROM THE NORTHWEST AT 44 MPH.

THERE WERE 5186 HEATING DEGREE DAYS FOR THE WINTER WHICH WAS 227
ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 4959. THERE WERE 0 COOLING DEGREE DAYS FOR THE
WINTER WHICH WAS NORMAL.

THE OUTLOOK FOR SPRING..NORMAL HIGHS START IN THE LOW 30S IN
EARLY MARCH AND WARM TO THE UPPER 60S BY THE END OF MAY. NORMAL LOWS
