...ABNORMALLY DRY CONDITIONS CONTINUE ACROSS FAR SOUTHWESTERN
NEBRASKA...

OVER THE PAST 30 DAYS...WITH THE EXCEPTION OF LOCATIONS ALONG THE
SOUTH DAKOTA AND NEBRASKA BORDER...FROM GORDON TO SPRINGVIEW...BELOW
NORMAL PRECIPITATION WAS PREVALENT ACROSS WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL
NEBRASKA. PRECIPITATION IN THESE AREAS WAS RUNNING GENERALLY 25 TO
50 PERCENT OF NORMAL FOR THE PAST 30 DAYS. YESTERDAY...WIDESPREAD
SNOW FELL ACROSS MOST OF THE SANDHILLS AND PORTIONS OF NORTH
CENTRAL...CENTRAL...AND ALONG THE INTERSTATE 80 CORRIDOR. SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS IN THE SANDHILLS WAS GENERALLY 3 TO 6 INCHES WITH SOME
LOCALIZED AMOUNTS APPROACHING 10 INCHES FROM NORTH OF ARTHUR...TO
DUNNING. HOWEVER, THE SNOW WATER CONTENT WAS VERY LIMITED WITH THIS
SNOWFALL. AT NORTH PLATTE 4.1 INCHES OF SNOW FELL WITH A WATER
EQUIVALENT OF JUST 0.14 INCHES. LITTLE OR NO SNOW FELL ACROSS THE
ABNORMALLY DRY AREAS OF CHASE AND SOUTHWESTERN PERKINS COUNTIES.

AS OF FEBRUARY 20TH...ACCORDING TO THE US DROUGHT
MONITOR...ABNORMALLY DRY CONDITIONS WERE OCCURRING OVER CHASE COUNTY
AND SOUTHWESTERN PERKINS COUNTY IN FAR SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA.

THE LATEST 6 TO 10 DAY OUTLOOK COVERING FEBRUARY 25TH THROUGH
FEBRUARY 29TH...CALLS FOR BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND ABOVE NORMAL
PRECIPITATION FOR ALL OF WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA.

THE LATEST 8 TO 14 DAY OUTLOOK COVERING FEBRUARY 27TH THROUGH MARCH
4TH...CALLS FOR BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND BELOW NORMAL
PRECIPITATION FOR ALL OF WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA.

ACCORDING TO THE CLIMATE PREDICTION CENTER...THE LATEST OUTLOOK FOR
MARCH CALLS FOR BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND EQUAL CHANCES FOR
ABOVE...BELOW OR NEAR NORMAL PRECIPITATION ACROSS ALL OF WESTERN AND
NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA.

THE LATEST 3 MONTH OUTLOOK COVERING MARCH...APRIL AND MAY...CALLS
FOR EQUAL CHANCES FOR ABOVE...BELOW OR NEAR NORMAL TEMPERATURES FOR
ALL OF WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA. ABOVE NORMAL
PRECIPITATION IS FORECAST FOR LOCATIONS NORTH OF A LINE FROM OSHKOSH
TO ONEILL. SOUTH OF THIS LINE...THERE ARE EQUAL CHANCES FOR
ABOVE...BELOW...OR NEAR NORMAL PRECIPITATION.

SINCE NO DROUGHT CONDITIONS ARE OCCURRING IN THE OUTLOOK
AREA...AN ABRIDGED DROUGHT INFORMATION STATEMENT IS ISSUED. WHEN THE
ONSET OF MODERATE DROUGHT CONDITIONS BEGIN...AN EXPANDED DROUGHT
INFORMATION STATEMENT WILL BE ISSUED ON OR NEAR THE THIRD THURSDAY
OF THE MONTH.
