...The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a flood
warning for the following rivers in South Carolina...

  Pee Dee River At Cheraw affecting Chesterfield and Marlboro

.Heavy rainfall occurred earlier this week across portions of the
Pee Dee River Basin. Upstream dam releases will result in high
flows along the Pee Dee River. As a result, minor flooding is
forecast on the Pee Dee River at Cheraw.


Safety message...never drive vehicles through flooded areas. The
water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow children to
play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to noaa weather radio...

The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a

* Flood Warning for
  The Pee Dee River At Cheraw
* From Thursday morning to Saturday afternoon...Or until the warning
  is cancelled.
* At 7 PM Wednesday the stage was 25.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 30.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage Thursday late
  morning and crest around 31.3 feet Thursday evening. The river
  will fall below flood stage Friday April 27.
* At 30.0 feet...The higher bank begins to flood. Large areas of
  farmland and river bottomland near Cheraw will be flooded. Portions
  of Riverside Park become flooded.
