This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Southwest North
Carolina...East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Light to moderate rainfall is expected to develop across the
forecast area today. With saturated soils in place, any heavy
rains would quickly be converted to runoff, possibly leading to
some localized flooding or flash flooding. This would be
especially true for areas in the Smokies, southern Tennessee
mountains, and southwest North carolina.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

Moisture associated with the remnants of subtropical storm
Alberto will spread across the region Tuesday into Tuesday night.
Showers and thunderstorms will develop over the area with the
potential for a few storm to become strong to severe. Theses
storms may contain strong, damaging winds and there will be a
slight chance of a brief tornado. The main threat will be heavy
rainfall which may lead to localized flooding and flash flooding.
A Flash Flood Watch will be in effect Tuesday and Tuesday night
for much of east TN and extreme southwest NC. Additionally, area
river rises can be expected due to heavy rains and runoff. This
will add to any flooding situation.

Spotter activation is not expected, but reports of flooding or
damage is appreciated.
