...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 1990, severe thunderstorms developed along a cold
front from Central Oklahoma to North Texas.  In El Reno
Oklahoma, along I 40, golfball sized hail accumulated 6
inches deep.  Winds also gusted to 75 mph at Okarche,
located in Central Oklahoma on the Canadian/ Kingfisher
County line.  Late that night, Fisher County Texas was
smacked by softball sized hail.  Fisher County Texas is
located about 60 miles northwest of Abilene.
