Weather Summary for the U.S. Virgin Islands
National Weather Service San Juan PR
459 AM AST Fri Jul 10 2020

Scattered showers increased during the overnight hours from the
eastern waters of the islands, with most of them moving mainly
across St. Thomas and St. John. Minimum temperatures ranged from
the low 70s to 80 degrees. Winds were from the east around 10 mph
with higher gusts observed with the showers.

Showers will continue to move at times across the U.S. Virgin
Islands during the morning hours. This is due to a small surge in
low level moisture associated with an upper level trough and weak
easterly perturbation. Maximum temperatures will continue to
reach the upper 80s to low 90s across the islands. Winds will
prevail from the east between 10 to 20 mph with higher gusts along
coastal areas. A tropical wave will move across the islands
during the weekend, increasing showers and thunderstorm activity
in general.

Choppy marine conditions with seas up to 6 feet are expected
across the offshore waters and passages today. Elsewhere, seas
will range between 3 and 5 feet. Winds will be out of the east at
10 to 20 knots. There is a moderate risk of rip currents for St.
