A large storm system bearing down on the area will bring a mixed
bag of weather to the area through Monday. Clouds and rain
impacted much of eastern Kansas today while severe storms
developed this afternoon over parts of western Kansas. Afternoon
highs ranged from the lower 40s in the northwest corner of the
state to the lower 70s in the southwest corner of the state. Much
of central and eastern Kansas remained in the 50s.

Storms will race eastward tonight while rain transitions to snow
over western Kansas. A blizzard warning is in effect for parts of
northwest Kansas. Lows tonight will fall into the low 20s in
northwest Kansas while those in southeast Kansas see lows in the
lower 50s.

Cold air will linger over the area on Monday as we remain under
the vigorous storm system. Snow will spread into parts of central
and north central Kansas while some storms will be possible in far
southeast Kansas. Afternoon temperatures are expected to range
from upper 20s over northwest Kansas to the upper 60s in southeast
Kansas.
