.DISCUSSION...
Isolated to scattered thunderstorm chances will continue across the
entire area today, with better chances being this afternoon and
evening. There will be the potential for some of these storms to be
strong to severe, mainly along and southeast of a Fullerton to Beaver
City line and into north central Kansas. Quarter size hail and wind
gusts near 60 MPH would be the main hazards...though gusty variable
winds will be possible even with weaker storms.
Confidence in winds through the daytime hours today are not high, as
there may be two frontal boundaries pushing into the area. The first
looks to be this morning, but is weak and may stall/wash out near the
NE/KS state line, bringing variable winds near/south of that boundary
and more west-northwest winds to the north (with speeds generally
around 10-15 MPH). The second looks to be later in the
afternoon/early evening, but again is weak, so there is some
uncertainty in just how far south it sinks and how winds evolve.
