Area Forecast Discussion...CORRECTED
National Weather Service Pago Pago AS
201 PM SST Sun May 20 2018

.Short term...
.TONIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT...Dry easterlies combined with a
mid-level ridge centered to the south of the area will yield to
partly cloudy skies and isolated showers through short term. Relatively
dry weather conditions are expected, thus anticipate a quiet forecast
period across the area.

.Long term...
.WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...Low-level convergence will place scattered
to numerous showers just offshores and north of the main Samoan Islands
through most of long term forecast period. Nevertheless, dry easterlies
will persist through the rest of the week with only isolated to scattered
mid-morning to afternoon showers expected over the forecast zones.

.Marine...A long-period SW swell will travel past the Samoan waters
through Wednesday morning. Perhaps this expected swell will boost
sea levels to near advisory threshold but will keep a close eye on
this situation over the next 24 hours. Thus, anticipate moderate
seas at 5 to 7 ft, then subside to near 4 to 6 ft on Wednesday night.
