OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
255 AM CST Thu Feb 20 2020

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

Modest northwest winds will continue over Lake Michigan today, as
high pressure around 30.9 inches pushes southeast across Iowa.
This high will continue towards the southeast United States into
the weekend. Brisk southwest winds will develop Friday into
Friday night. There is a high likelihood of gales Friday
afternoon and evening mainly across the northern half of the
lake, but will extend to to the southern half as well,
particularly into the evening. Thus the Gale Watch has been
expanded to include the entire lake. The southwest winds will
then gradually lessen from late Friday night through the weekend.
