At 627 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Wellington, or 9 miles east of Topaz Lake, moving north at 15 mph.

Dime size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Topaz Lake, Smith, Wellington, Nv 208 At Douglas-Lyon Co Line, Smith
Valley, Holbrook Junction, Junction Nv 338 And Nv 829 (wellington
Cutoff) and Topaz Lake Campground.


If on or near Topaz Lake, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

Heavy rainfall is occurring with this storm. Expect ponding of water
on roadways. In areas of steep terrain, minor rock slides are
possible. Drivers should slow down and turn on their headlights if
encountering heavy rains.
