Survey Summary:
A brief tornado damaged several homes north of Bryson City on Friday,
May 6, 2022.  Damage to 3 homes included roof damage, damage to siding
and doors, a few windows broken, and tree falls.  One home had a large
part of its roof removed.  Nearby areas of tree damage in the Deep
Creek Campground were related to the tornado, but not directly
in the path of the narrow tornadic damage. Eyewitnesses reported
observations consistent with a tornado, and timing and location of
damage corresponded with a weak rotational feature on radar.
