435 AM CDT Tue May 22 2018

High clouds covered much of the area during the overnight hours with
light southerly winds observed at most locations. Predawn
temperatures remained above normal ranging from the upper 50s across
northeast Kansas to the low to mid 60s elsewhere.

South winds will increase into the 15 to 25 mph range for much of
central and western Kansas today. This will help drive temperatures
into the mid and upper 80s this afternoon. An isolated late
afternoon storm may impact portions of western Kansas but most
locations will remain dry.

A ridge of high pressure aloft will build across the area tonight
bringing tranquil weather conditions. Light south winds and some
high thin clouds will allow low temperatures to remain mild ranging
from the upper 50s over northwest Kansas to the mid and upper 60s
