The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Waters from Cape Fear NC to Little River Inlet SC from 20 to 40
  nm...
  Waters from Surf City to Cape Fear NC from 20 to 40 nm...

* Until 815 PM EST.

* At 714 PM EST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing
  waterspouts was located 7 nm south of Wr4, moving northeast at 45
  knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Frying Pan Shoals Buoy, Frying Pan Shoals Light Tower, Wreck 33 and
  City Of Houston.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes. Boaters should
seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. If caught on
the open water, prepare for deteriorating conditions. Make sure you
and your crew are wearing properly fitted life jackets.
