...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Illinois, including the following
  counties, Clay, Effingham and Jasper.

* WHEN...Until 900 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
  continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
  Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Recently,there have been several public reports between 3 and
    5 inches of rain from yesterday`s thunderstorms.  Ponding of
    water across some urban and low-lying areas may linger
    through late morning.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Flora, Newton, Louisville, Edgewood, Xenia, Bible Grove,
    Wheeler, Sailor Springs, Bogota, Iola, Hord, Ingraham,
    Wendelin and Flora Municipal Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
