  Waters from Cape Lookout  to Surf City NC from 20 to 40 nm...

* Until 715 PM EDT.

* At 616 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Morgan Bay,
  or 8 nm north of New River Inlet, moving southeast at 25 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 50 knots and small hail.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Boats could suffer significant structural damage in high
           winds. Small craft could capsize in suddenly higher
           waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Ar342, Bogue Inlet, Ar345, Ar340, and New River Inlet.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.
Wind gusts in excess of 50 knots, small hail, high waves, dangerous
lightning, and heavy rain are possible with this storm.

Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
