...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN VERNON PARISH THROUGH
500 PM CDT...

At 425 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Rosepine, moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor
         objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
De Ridder, Leesville, Rosepine, Pitkin, Fort Johnson, New Llano,
Lacamp, Leander, Fullerton, Cravens, and Pickering.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT for southwestern
and west central Louisiana.
