...Rivers on the Rise This Week...

We continue to see a rise in area rivers due to the melting of the
high-elevation snowpack. Most rivers will remain within their banks,
but some minor flooding is possible. The Big Lost River is also
seeing increased flows into Mackay Reservoir. Some uncertainty
remains if the water will reach the spillway. If it does, increased
flows will propagate downstream. The Henry`s Fork continues to rise,
with greatest impacts downstream of the major tributaries--the Teton
and Fall Rivers. The lack of inflow initially continues the delay on
reaching minor flood stage, but that is expected to change and we
should see that threshold reached by later Friday or early on in
the weekend.

The threat of showers and thunderstorms will continue to increase
through the weekend. Although the track of the low will ultimately
determine where heavier rain and yes, mountain snow, will
fall...there is the potential for decent accumulations in various
river basins.

To minimize your risk of flooding, make sure you keep drains open.
Also you can create runoff ditches to direct flowing water.
