Mount Sterling, Owingsville, Morehead, Irvine, Ravenna,
Clay City, Stanton, Frenchburg, Cumberland, Harlan, Sandy Hook,
West Liberty, Paintsville, Campton, Salyersville, Prestonsburg,
Wheelwright, Beattyville, Jackson, Hindman, Pippa Passes,
Booneville, Hazard, Hyden, Jenkins, Whitesburg, Inez, Coal Run,

...Snow Expected to Develop Friday Night and Continue For Parts
of the Area into Saturday...

Accumulating snow is expected to develop Friday night and continue
into Saturday. The snow will mix with and change to rain for most
places late Friday night through midday on Saturday. However,
precipitation in locations generally along and north of the
Mountain Parkway, and especially near or north of Interstate 64
such as Fleming, Rowan, and Elliott Counties, will likely remain
snow the longest. These locations would have the highest chances
of picking up a couple of inches of wet accumulation by mid day
Saturday. Most other locations will see a slushy inch or less
accumulation, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces.

As the snow transitions to rain across the area some sleet or a
touch of freezing rain will be possible for a brief period time.
Currently, there remains some uncertainty with the depth of the
cold air expected to be in place across northeast Kentucky
affecting the transition times for snow to rain throughout the
area. This will have a big impact on actual snow accumulations.
