Weather Summary for Western and North Central Nebraska

A blizzard is ongoing across western and north central Nebraska
tonight. As of mid evening, numerous road closures were reported
along and west of highway 83 from Valentine to North Platte.
Additional road closures are imminent overnight as this storm
system pulls east. In the meantime overnight, expect quarter mile
or less visibilities, wind gusts of 50 to 60 MPH and moderate to
heavy snow with rates an inch or more per hour possible. Travel is
not advised tonight. Lows tonight should bottom out in the lower
to middle 20s with wind chills approaching zero.

Conditions will gradually improve on Saturday as the storm system
pulls east. However, strong northerly winds will persist through
midday, impacting roads and travel across western and north
central Nebraska. Highs Saturday will range from the upper 20s in
north central Nebraska to the lower 30s in southwestern Nebraska.
