Fire Weather Planning Forecast
National Weather Service Lake Charles LA
243 PM CDT Mon Aug 15 2022

.DISCUSSION...
Dry and hot weather will continue Tuesday into Wednesday as ridging
aloft and at the surface prevails. By late Wednesday, rain chances
begin to tick up as the ridge breaks down and troffing becomes the
key feature aloft, with a surface front sagging into northern
Louisiana. Elevated rain chances can be expected Thursday through
Saturday, with periods of heavy rain and localized flooding possible,
especially Thursday and Friday as the front sags a little farther
south and meanders across Central Louisiana. Better coverage of
convection will hold temperatures near or below seasonal normals
through this period.
