.Synopsis... A surface trough will remain nearly stationary along
154W into the weekend. Gale force winds are expected E of the trough
N of 20N today. Meanwhile, a weak surface low just NW of the area
will gradually fill over the next couple of days as strong high
pressure holds NNE of the area. A weak surface ridge will build just
NW of the area on Thursday or Friday. A cold front may enter the NW
waters this weekend.

Hawaiian waters within 40 nautical miles including the channels-


.TODAY...East to northeast winds 10 to 15 knots around the Big
Island and variable 10 knots or less elsewhere. Wind waves 2 to 3
feet. East swell 8 to 10 feet and northwest swell 4 feet.
Scattered showers.
.TONIGHT...Northeast winds 10 knots or less. Wind waves 2 feet or
less. East swell 8 to 10 feet and northwest swell 3 feet.
Scattered showers.
.THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT...Northeast winds 5 to 15 knots.
Wind waves 2 to 3 feet. East swell 8 to 9 feet, subsiding to 5 to
6 feet Friday. Northwest swell 3 feet. Scattered showers.

30 kt. W of trough, variable winds 5 to 15 kt. Seas 10 to 13 ft
NE waters, 6 to 10 ft elsewhere. Isolated thunderstorms SE half.
.THURSDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHT...Surface trough along 154W. E of
trough, SE winds 15 to 20 kt. W of trough, variable winds 5 to 15
kt. Seas 6 to 11 ft, subsiding to 5 to 8 ft at night. Isolated
thunderstorms SE half.
