...Public Information Statement...

...Temporary NWS NDBC outages for 5 Alaska C-MAN stations
projected to occur on or after April 6, 2019...

On or after Saturday, April 6, 2019, a newly identified GPS
software issue is likely to cause 5 Coastal and Marine Automated
Network (C-MAN) stations in Southcentral Alaska to stop
transmitting data. National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) teams have
been applying the needed software update but it is estimated that
the 5 Alaska C-MAN stations and 15 other C-MAN stations across the
US will be impacted beginning April 6. NDBC estimated that these
sites will be completed about the end of November 2019.

A list of impacted Alaska C-MAN stations is as follows:
AMAA2 - East Amatuli Island Light
AUGA2 - Augustine Island
DRFA2 - Drift River Terminal
FILA2 - Flat Island Light
PILA2 - Pilot Rock, AK

The projected maintenance timing, once finalized, will be
provided on NDBCs website under the maintenance schedule heading
or by URL at:
