.DISCUSSION...HIGH PRESSURE WAS IN PLACE ACROSS NORTHWEST CALIFORNIA
FOR MUCH OF THE MONTH. ONLY ONE SYSTEM MANAGED TO BREAK THIS DOWN
AND BRING ANY NOTICEABLE RAIN TO EUREKA ON THE TENTH. A FEW
ADDITIONAL SYSTEMS BROUGHT SOME LIGHT DRIZZLE ON NINE OTHER DAYS.

PERIODS OF MODERATE TO STRONG OFFSHORE FLOW BROUGHT SEVERAL PERIODS
OF CLEAR SKIES. THIS ALLOWED HIGH TEMPERATURES TO WARM INTO THE 60S
IN THE AFTERNOON WHILE COOLING INTO THE 30S OVERNIGHT. OTHER TIMES
THE MARINE LAYER REMAINED IN PLACE OR ONLY PUSHED OFFSHORE BRIEFLY.
THIS KEPT TEMPERATURES IN THE 50S. LOCALLY DENSE FOG WAS ANOTHER
COMMON FEATURE THIS MONTH IN EUREKA. THIRTEEN DAYS SAW FOG WITH
VISIBILITY ONE QUARTER OF A MILE OR LESS. THIS WAS THE MOST DAYS
EUREKA SAW DENSE FOG IN MONTH SINCE SEPTEMBER OF 2012. MKK
