Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
151 PM CDT Mon May 23 2022

.DISCUSSION...

Scattered showers/thunderstorms are expected through tonight
across much of the area, with wetting rains possible, along with
lightning and erratic gusty winds. Rain chances will linger Tues,
mainly across northern and eastern areas, though warmer temperatures
and increasing westerly winds may result in brief localized elevated
fire weather conditions, mainly across the Guadalupe Mtns and
adjacent areas. Another cold front will arrive Tues night,
maintaining below normal temperatures Wed. Thu onward, hot and dry
conditions are expected with a return to triple digit temperatures
by the weekend, along with widespread single digit RHs and a likely
return of critical fire weather conditions.
