...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT ANSON...SOUTHWESTERN
MONTGOMERY...CENTRAL RICHMOND AND SOUTHERN STANLY COUNTIES THROUGH
645 PM EDT...

At 555 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of showers and
strong winds along a line extending from 6 miles south of Plyler to
near Mineral Springs to near Chester. Movement was southeast at 40
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Rockingham, Wadesboro, Ansonville, Polkton, Norwood, Oakboro,
Stanfield, Mount Gilead, Ellerbe, and Lilesville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
central North Carolina.
