FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
603 AM EDT Sun Jul 13 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Mostly dry weather is expected across the UP today. Minimum RHs are
forecast to be around the 40 percent mark in the west half, with the
east being mainly in the 50s and 60s percents, though RHs may not
fall as much if persisting wildfire smoke prevents temperatures from
warming up as much as expected. Winds will be out of the west to
southwest at around 5-9 mph in the morning and increasing to around
10 mph in the afternoon with gusts up to 20 mph (except in the
Keweenaw, where winds around 15 mph are already occurring). This
evening, some thunderstorms may (30% chance) arrive in the west,
bringing up to 2 tenths of an inch of rain but not over a widespread
area. Should thunderstorms occur, they could bring localized strong
winds and variable wind directions.

Monday will be precip-free until overnight into Tuesday. RHs once
again look to fall to the 40s percents in the west and 50s to low
60s percents in the east with winds of around 5-10 mph primarily out
of the west.
