...Increased fire danger across most of northeast North Carolina
through early evening...

The combination of low relative humidity levels of 25 to 35
percent, and strong, breezy west to northwest winds gusting to 25
to 35 mph, will result in elevated fire danger conditions through
early this evening across northeast North Carolina.

Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged through 8 pm this evening. Residents
are urged to exercise caution handling any potential ignition
source...including machinery... cigarettes...and matches. Be sure
to properly discard all smoking materials. Any dry grasses and
tree litter that ignite will have the potential to spread quickly.
