...NWS WFO Taunton and NERFC move to Norton is underway...

The National Weather Service (NWS) Southern New England Weather
Forecast Office (WFO) and the Northeast River Forecast Center
(NERFC) is officially in the process of moving to our new building
as of 815 AM this morning.  The new office is located at 46 Commerce
Way in the Norton Commerce Park in Norton, MA. The radar will remain
at the existing location in Taunton, MA.

NWS forecast products and most services will be uninterrupted, since
during the move, WFO forecasters have temporarily relocated to the
Gray, Maine Forecast Office and NERFC forecasters have temporarily
relocated to NWS Eastern Region Headquarters in Bohemia, New York.

Web-entered spotter reports will be able to be viewed by our
forecasters in Gray. However, Public Information Statements listing
spotter reports of snowfall, wind gusts, etc. may be limited to only
a few representative reports - far fewer than normal.

Six NOAA Weather Radio transmitters will be temporarily off the air
for up to a couple of days during the move to the new facility.
These include:

Johnston, RI transmitter......WXJ39....162.400 MHz
Gloucester, MA transmitter....WNG574...162.425 MHz
Blue Hill, MA transmitter.....KHB35....162.475 MHz
Somers, CT transmitter........WXJ41....162.475 MHz
Hyannis, MA transmitter.......KEC73....162.550 MHz
Paxton, MA transmitter........WXL93....162.550 MHz

The Taunton WSR-88D radar will also not be able to communicate for
up to a couple of days during the move. We apologize for this
